IBC: Haus der Natur Workshop- Rund um den Hund

Over these past 6 weeks, we have been working on a project at school called, ‘Animal Welfare’.

We learnt a lot about the Austrian animal protection laws, animal behaviour and how to treat animals.

Today we participated in a workshop ‘Rund um den Hund – vom Wolf zum Haustier’ at Haus der Natur. We met two therapy dogs named Charlie and Lotte. They were calm, cute and very smart.

We practised how to behave around dogs, how to approach dogs if we would like to pet them and how to respond if a barking dog comes running towards you. We were also allowed to feed, pet and stroke the dogs.

Afterwards we visited a dog exhibition on the 4th floor, where we learnt about different species of dog and what their characters are like.

It was a very interesting and cool workshop! We would definitely recommend it for other school classes! Have fun!
